Acceptable Use Policy
CheckedName relies on registries and platforms that share their data in good faith. These rules keep it fast and fair for everyone.

Use CheckedName to name things
CheckedName is built for people choosing names for products, companies and projects. Normal use, even very heavy use while you name something, is welcome.
Don't
- Use scripts, bots or automated tools to run searches or call our endpoints, except through an official API if we offer one.
- Use CheckedName as a proxy for bulk domain, GitHub or npm lookups, or to build or resell a dataset of availability results.
- Create multiple accounts or rotate IP addresses to get around plan limits.
- Probe, scan or try to bypass our security, rate limits or row-level access controls.
- Use the service to plan domain squatting, typosquatting or impersonation of existing brands, or to harass anyone.
- Submit unlawful, hateful or sexually explicit content, or content that infringes other people's rights.
- Interfere with the service or the third-party providers it depends on.
Fair use limits
Each plan has daily search limits and per-search check limits, and we enforce provider-specific rate limits behind the scenes. If your usage looks automated or puts the service at risk, we may slow down, pause or block it.
Enforcement
Depending on how serious a breach is, we may warn you, limit your usage, or suspend or close your account. Where it's reasonable, we'll contact you first.
